What are Torres Novas towels made of?
Torres Novas products are 100% made of high quality cotton, with long fibers, combining softness and comfort with resistance and durability. Only 100% natural, biodegradable and environmentally friendly fibers are used, never using artificial and polluting fibers like polyester.
Where are Torres Novas products made?
All Torres Novas products, whether they are terry bath towels or other terry cloth items, are manufactured in Portugal, by partners with decades of partnership with Torres Novas, and who combine tradition with the most modern confection techniques.
What certificates do Torres Novas products have?
Torres Novas products are manufactured under OEKO-TEX® certification. This certification guarantees that hazardous chemicals are not used at any stage of the textile production process. Torres Novas products are therefore extensively tested throughout the production chain to ensure that cotton is not treated with harmful chemicals such as pesticides or lead.
My towels are shedding. Is there a problem?
No. It is perfectly normal for terry cloth towels and other good quality terry cloth products to shed during their first few uses. This is due to the use of low-twist yarns, which provide great softness. Darker coloured towels (petroleum blue, cobalt blue, cardinal red, peony pink, brownie, dark olive, blue flag, orange red, red, olive drab, black, blue France, dove, tangerine, and saffron yellow) shed a little more in the first few washes and take longer to stabilize. Therefore, we recommend machine washing them at least three times in cold water before the first use to stabilize shedding.
Do Torres Novas towels shrink?
It is normal for there to be a slight shrinkage with the first few washes. This is because we only use 100% natural fibers and the production process does not include chemical agents such as formaldehyde, used to pre-shrink articles industrially, thus minimizing any environmental impact and guaranteeing the quality of the towels. Due to its high quality construction, if following the recommended care instructions, shrinkage is limited to 10%.
Are Torres Novas products hypoallergenic?
Yes, since only cotton is used in their manufacture, Torres Novas products do not pose any risk for people with atopic skin. Products are not a risk for people with asthma either, as shedding will be minimal after the first few washes.
Can I embroider initials or customize my Torres Novas towels and bathrobes?

How long does it take to ship an embroidered order?
An embroidered order can take up to a week to be shipped. The delivery time to Portugal and Peninsular Spain is approximately 1-3 working days, and up to 7 working days to the rest of Europe.

Caring for your Torres Novas
How often should I wash Torres Novas towels?
We recommend washing weekly or after 5-7 uses.
What care should I take when washing / drying?
We recommend machine washing with cold water, although it is safe to use water up to 40 ºC. Only wash with same-color terry cloth towels and without fabric softener. Using fabric softener makes towels less absorbent, so this should be avoided as much as possible. If you have accidentally used fabric softener, don't worry. You can still use the towels anyway, and their full absorption capacities will be regained during their next wash cycle.
For maximum softness, Torres Novas towels can be dried in the dryer at low to moderate temperature. If using a traditional clothesline, avoid direct exposure to the sun and remove towels before fully dry to prevent them from getting too hard. If they become hard, do not worry, as they will recover their softness after a few uses.
How often should I replace Torres Novas bath towels?
Torres Novas towels are built to last several years with adequate use and following of care instructions. They should only need replacement once you feel they have lost their natural softness and absorption.
How should I hang Torres Novas towels?
We advise hanging them on a towel rack or hanger immediately after use. This is important to avoid the development of moisture and bad smells.
How should I store Torres Novas towels?
Torres Novas towels should be kept in a cool and dry place. Avoid damp areas.
I would like to offer someone Torres Novas. How can I do so?
If you want to offer Torres Novas products, simply place a different delivery address from the billing address and leave a note or comment when placing the order. The invoice will not be sent with the bought items.

Yes, you have 14 days to return products if you are not satisfied. Please note that we only accept returns for products that have not been washed or used, are in the condition in which they were received, and not embroidered.

All shipments are made via carrier and delivered within 48 business hours (Portugal and Spain) and up to 7 business days to the rest of World.
What are the conditions for free shipping?
Shipping is free for orders from €30 to Portugal and Spain, from €100 to Balearic Islands and Europe (excluding Norway, United Kingdom and Switzerland), from €150 to Switzerland, from €175 to the United Kingdom, and from €200 to the Rest of World.
How do I know if my order has already been shipped?
As soon as the order is shipped, you will receive an email with the tracking number.
What is your returns policy?
We accept exchanges or returns up to 14 days after receipt of the order. See the complete returns policy here. Please note that we can only accept returns for products that have not been washed or used, are in the condition in which they were received, and not embroidered.
How long does it take to process a return?
The processing of a return can take up to 15 days after arrival at our warehouse.
